Biography

An experienced Data Analyst with expertise in MS SQL Server stack, Salesforce, SAP CRM/HANA, MS Excel / VBA, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) 5.0, Python, Teradata, Power BI, and more.

Tom has completed engagement at Services Australia and the Department of Human Services, he undertook extensive analysis of several legacy databases in preparation for writing scripts to execute the planned data migrations. This included activities such as understanding data volumes, which data sat in what table, how the various tables are linked together, the physical meaning of tables and columns, and analytics such as how certain metrics have varied over time etc. He has experience querying a range of database technologies such as DB2, MS SQL Server, Salesforce, SAP, and Teradata.

Tom has experience capturing user stories from business stakeholders to identify reporting requirements for the future-state solution, and mapping these to technical requirements, designed and built a series of Power BI dashboards to replace a weekly report that was manually done out of Excel. When discrepancies arose between my numbers and the weekly report numbers, he investigated the data down to an extremely low level to understand the differences, and explain the reasons to key stakeholders.

Tom has a PhD in Astrophysics, as you diddley do!
