Act 1: The Hero’s Dilemma

Our hero, a seasoned business analyst warrior with 20 years of experience, stands at a crossroads. She is seeking an Agile Scrum Master certification, a powerful tool to enhance her skills and conquer project challenges. But alas, the path is fraught with peril, with a multitude of certifications vying for her attention.

Act 2: The Mentor’s Wisdom (and Conflicting Advice)

The journey began when the BA champion realized that their sword belt and scabbard, while full of shiny swords (certifications), didn’t quite hold the weapons they needed for today’s complex projects.

Our hero seeks guidance from wise mentors, hoping to illuminate the path forward. Her bosses, like oracles of old, offer cryptic advice. One extols the virtues of the Certified Scrum Master (CSM), a popular choice, while the other champions the DSDM Agile Project Management, a comprehensive approach.

A wise Agile expert, akin to a Gandalf of project management, speaks of the Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM), a flexible and adaptable path. Meanwhile, a trusted colleague, like a Samwise Gamgee of Agile, suggests sticking to the familiar Scrum Master path.

Act 3: The Hero’s Inner Journey

Our hero, armed with this conflicting advice, embarks on an inner journey of self-discovery. She reflects on her past projects, the challenges she faced, and the values she holds dear. She realizes that she is drawn to the pragmatic side of Agile, the art of delivering value incrementally while adapting to change.

Act 4: The DASM Revelation

In a moment of clarity, our hero discovers the DASM certification, a hidden gem that resonates with her soul. It encompasses the core principles of Scrum, but goes beyond, offering a comprehensive framework for scaling and tailoring Agile practices.

Act 5: The Hero’s Choice

Our hero, empowered by this revelation, chooses the DASM path. It aligns perfectly with her experience, her values, and her aspirations. She is ready to embark on this new adventure, confident that it will lead her to project success and personal fulfillment.

Epilogue: A Call to Action

And so, our hero’s journey continues. She embraces the DASM certification, eager to deepen her Agile knowledge and guide teams towards triumph. Along the way, she shares her wisdom, inspiring others to embark on their own Agile adventures.

A Touch of Humour

As our hero pondered her options, she couldn’t help but chuckle at the irony of using an Agile approach to choose an Agile certification. It was like using a map to find a map, a meta-journey into the world of Agile.

She also realized that choosing the right certification was like choosing a trusty steed for a long journey. The CSM was like a reliable horse, well-trained and widely recognized. The DSDM was like a sturdy warhorse, powerful and comprehensive. And the DASM, ahhh, the DASM was like a majestic unicorn, flexible, adaptable, and a bit magical.

The End (or is it?)

Our hero’s story is a testament to the power of self-reflection, the importance of seeking diverse perspectives, and the courage to choose one’s own path. It’s a reminder that the Agile journey is not just about certifications and frameworks, but about embracing a mindset of adaptability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

So, dear reader, what will your Agile journey be? Will you choose the well-trodden path of the CSM, the comprehensive route of the DSDM, or the flexible and adaptable way of the DASM? The choice is yours, and the adventure awaits.
